Dear Distributor,

Over the last couple of weeks Fluke Australia has received countless customer enquiries on Fluke’s Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers range and their ability to determine the temperature of a person’s body. We’d like to further reiterate that Fluke’s Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers are specifically designed for industrial/commercial use offering a wide temperature range at an accuracy of ±1.5 °C or ±1.5 % reading, whichever is greater. 

We do not recommend Fluke’s Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers be utilised as a reliable and accurate method of screening people for fevers without additional processes and controls. If you have a customer that is aware of the above and continues to use these for human temperature screening, we urge you to notify them that the Fluke IR Thermometer is equipped with a targeting laser when triggered. Do not point the laser directly at persons or animals or indirectly off reflective surfaces – it must be turned off or covered.
